Warehouse Management
The Dual Unit of Measure app supports all warehouse activities in Business Central, including Direct Pick and Put-away warehouses. The Units fields are available on the various pages, including the bin contents. The app supports variable and fixed ratio scenarios across all activities.
This section assumes you know the standard warehouse activities in Business Central. If you are not familiar with the standard features, we recommend referring to Microsoft's help. Here are some useful links:
Inbound Transactions
The app allows you to receive a higher or lower weight/volume when processing inbound transactions, provided the variance is within the tolerances specified in the setup. The adjustments made to the weight/volume automatically get transferred to the associated order, and the order value is adjusted to reflect the change in weight/volume. This is the same feature described here.
Inventory Put-aways
You use Inventory Put-aways when your location is set up to require put-away processing but not receive processing. The Inventory Put-away page shows the Units to be received and allows you to enter the Units to Handle.
Warehouse Receipts
The warehouse receipt reflects the units and units to be received, in addition to the Quantity and Quantity to Receive.

Outbound Transactions
The app allows you to ship a higher or lower weight/volume when processing outbound transactions, provided the variance is within the tolerances specified in the setup. The adjustments made to the weight/volume automatically get transferred to the associated order, and the order value is adjusted to reflect the change in weight/volume. This is the same feature described here.
Inventory Picks
You use Inventory Picks when your location is set up to require pick processing but not shipment processing. The Inventory Pick page shows the Units needed for the order and allows you to enter the Units to Handle.
Warehouse Shipments
The warehouse shipment reflects the units and units to be shipped, in addition to the Quantity and Quantity to Ship.
If your warehouse is set up to require picking, then you cannot update the Units to Ship directly (just like the Qty. to Ship).
Warehouse Picks
The Warehouse Picks reflect the Units and Units to Handle, which are defaulted when the pick is created. If the items you pick have different ratios from what was suggested on the pick, the app will increase/decrease the quantity as required, provided the variances are within tolerance. When you register the pick, the associated warehouse shipment gets an update with the units picked.
