Remittance Advice for Document Capture

Remittance Advice for Document Capture extends Excellent Importer by connecting the customer remittance process to Continia Document Capture. This allows you to capture remittance advices from PDF files and use the extracted lines to help apply customer payments against open invoices and credit memos in Business Central.

The extension includes the following features:

  • Default setup for the REMITTANCE document category.
  • Logic to transfer remittance lines from Continia Document Registration to the Excellent Importer Customer Remittance Line table.
  • Guided setup notifications when the required Continia Document Capture configuration has not yet been imported.

When to Use This Extension​

Use this extension when:

  • Your customers send remittance advices as PDF documents instead of Excel or text files.
  • You already use Excellent Importer for customer remittance processing.
  • You use Continia Document Capture to extract data from incoming documents.
  • You want to reduce manual matching effort when applying customer payments.

Setup​

After installing the extension, you must import the Continia Document Capture configuration for the remittance workflow. This is done by running the Continia Document Capture Assisted Setup Wizard and importing the XML configuration file provided by this extension.

Setup Flow​

  1. Install the extension from the Martketplace (formally AppSource).
  2. Download the remittance configuration file when prompted.
  3. Open the Continia Document Capture Assisted Setup Wizard.
  4. Import the downloaded XML configuration file.
  5. Complete the Continia setup in the company where you want to process remittance advices.

The app raises a notification when it detects that the Continia Document Capture configuration is missing from the current company. The notifications are raised in the following areas:

  • A notification is raised in the role centre when the config is missing from the current company. You can download the file and start the Document Capture Assisted Setup Wizard.
  • The same notification will be raised when you open the document categories.
  • On the Document Capture Assisted Setup Wizard, a notification is raised when you open the page, and you can download the file if you do not already have it.

Initial Setup

The notifications are only ever raised in companies where Document Capture has been configured. If you have Document Capture configured in a company but you do not want to configure this connector in the company, you can turn off the notifications.

How It Works​

Once the Continia Document Capture setup is in place, remittance advice data captured from incoming PDF documents can be transferred into the Excellent Importer customer remittance process. The imported remittance lines are then available for matching and applying customer payments in Business Central.
