Advanced License Plating for Tasklet

Advanced License Plating for Tasklet extends Tasklet Mobile WMS with deeper license plate control, a permanent audit ledger, and a set of specialised warehouse workflows for businesses that need more than the standard license plating foundation provides.

The app is built for warehouses where license plates are central to operations — where traceability needs to be auditable, where picks involve multi-level pallet and carton hierarchies, where production consumes and outputs tracked license plates, and where outbound shipments must be consolidated into freight pallets and verified before posting. It works alongside the standard Tasklet license plating features rather than replacing them.

What the app adds

CapabilityDescription
License Plate EntriesA permanent ledger that records every movement, adjustment, and transaction by license plate, providing a full history for audit and traceability.
Business Central processingLicense plate transactions can be initiated and managed directly in Business Central without a mobile device — assigning license plates to warehouse documents, reviewing and reversing entries, running adjustments, and monitoring processing queues — so back-office staff can support or correct warehouse flows without scanner access.
Advanced receivingScan an inbound license plate to receive its entire contents against open receipt lines in one step, using a bin-aware allocation strategy. Hierarchical license plates are received as a single unit with their structure preserved through put-away.
Advanced pickingLicense plate pick methods that assign source and destination license plates during the pick itself — including whole-pallet picks, partial picks, new LP creation on the device, and full hierarchy handling.
Single-lot validationA customer-configurable rule that restricts all picks for an order, or each individual scanned license plate, to a single lot number.
Freight pallet managementConsolidation of outbound license plates into freight pallets, truck load scanning, and a pre-posting check that all pallets have been loaded before the warehouse shipment is posted.
Production with license platesConsumption, output, bulk consumption, and their reversals — posted through an asynchronous scan processing queue with retry logic and a queue monitor.
GS1 SSCC complianceEnforcement of 18-digit GS1 SSCC check-digit validation on license plate numbers, with correct handling in all pick and move flows.
License Plate Creation importBulk creation of license plates, content, hierarchy, and ledger entries from prepared data, without removing and re-receiving existing stock.
Posting integrityKeeps license plate content, warehouse entries, and license plate entries aligned during all posting flows, and queues cleanup of empty license plates and hierarchy records until posting is complete.

Functional areas

Receiving

The app extends the Tasklet receipt flow so operators can receive stock by scanning an inbound license plate rather than scanning each item individually. The system retrieves the license plate contents and allocates them across open receipt lines using a bin-aware three-pass strategy. Full nested hierarchies — pallets containing cartons, cartons containing inner packs — are received as a single unit with the hierarchy preserved through put-away and posting. Duplicate LP detection prevents accidental re-registration within a session, and barcode quantity scanning is available for locations that label goods with quantity barcodes.

See Receiving for full details.

Picking

The app adds three license plate pick methods to the Tasklet pick flow: full LP picks, partial LP picks with source-to-destination mapping, and item label picks. It handles multi-level license plate hierarchies — the same hierarchical structures that Tasklet supports — and adds pick-time bin resolution, source-to-destination ledger tracking, new LP creation on the device, and single-lot validation per customer. Freight pallet management and truck load tracking are also part of the picking functional area.

See Picking for full details.

Production

The app extends the Tasklet scanner for production consumption, output, and bulk consumption using license plates. All six transaction types — consumption, consumption reversal, output, output reversal, bulk consumption, and bulk consumption reversal — use a configurable execution mode (synchronous or asynchronous) with a scan processing queue, retry logic, and queue monitor visibility.

See Production for full details.

GS1 SSCC Compliance

Where license plate numbers must conform to the GS1 Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) standard, the app enforces 18-digit length and check-digit validation. This applies when creating new license plates on the device during picking or movement flows.

See GS1 SSCC Compliance for full details.

License Plate Creation Import

The License Plate Creation import lets you build license plates, assign content, establish parent-child relationships, and create the initial ledger entries from a prepared data file. This is the preferred approach for introducing license plates into a warehouse that already holds stock, avoiding the disruption of removing and re-receiving inventory.

See License Plate Creation Import for full details.

Business Central processing

While the Tasklet scanner is the primary way to transact with license plates, the app also exposes license plate operations directly in Business Central. This allows back-office staff to work with license plates without scanner access and gives warehouse supervisors a complete view of license plate activity from the BC client.

Capabilities available in Business Central include:

  • Assign License Plate — manually assign or create a license plate against a warehouse document.
  • License Plate Card and List — view and manage license plate records, content, and hierarchy directly.
  • License Plate Entries — review the full audit ledger of every license plate movement, posted from both the scanner and Business Central.
  • Queue Monitor — view and manage the production scan processing queue, retry failed entries, and reverse posted scan transactions without re-scanning at the device.
  • Merge Lines — consolidate fragmented warehouse pick lines from the warehouse pick document in Business Central.
  • License Plate Creation Import — build license plates, content, and ledger entries in bulk from Business Central without mobile device involvement. See License Plate Creation Import.
  • Counting and adjustments — process license plate counting and quantity adjustments from Business Central.

License plate handling

  • Create and maintain license plates tied to warehouse activity and warehouse journal posting.
  • Assign license plates to Tasklet-driven processes: picks, put-aways, receipts, movements, and inventory movements.
  • Move, validate, and report on license plates from Business Central.

Hierarchy and content management

  • Support multi-level license plate hierarchies, consistent with the hierarchical structures Tasklet Mobile WMS provides.
  • Track direct parent and ancestor parent relationships, and reassign license plates within the hierarchy when inventory is moved.
  • Merge and clean up license plate content.
  • Handle positive and negative quantity adjustments through warehouse and item posting flows.
  • Support strip-bin behaviour where temporary destination license plates are consumed during posting.

Administration

  • Support counting and adjustment processes for license plates.
  • Administrative utilities for content merge and cleanup.
  • Queue cleanup of empty license plates and related records until posting is complete; empty license plates are deleted when they have no active relationships.

Licensing and availability
