Usage
The Purchase Requisition Portal is designed to support a simple and consistent purchasing workflow from request submission to approval.
For requesters
Requesters use the Power Pages portal to:
- Create a new purchase requisition
- Add required details such as requested items, quantities, and justification
- Attach supporting documents and related files
- Submit the requisition for approval
The portal provides a guided experience so requests are captured in a consistent format.
For approvers
Approvers review and act on requisitions through the Business Central approval workflow. Typical actions include:
- Review the requisition details
- Check attachments and supporting information
- Approve or reject the request
- Add comments or return the request for clarification if needed
The workflow status helps users understand where a request is in the approval process.
For administrators
Administrators can use the solution to:
- Maintain the setup and configuration for the requisition process
- Manage document handling and supporting integrations
- Support user access and governance requirements
- Monitor workflow activity and maintain auditability
Typical business flow
A typical requisition follows this path:
- A requester submits a requisition through the portal
- The request is routed through the approval workflow
- Approvers review and act on the request
- The request is tracked and managed in Business Central
- Supporting documents remain connected to the requisition record
- Purchase Orders are created based on requisitions. Either automatically as a 1:1 or combined via a worksheet.
Notes
The exact steps and approvals may vary depending on your organisation’s workflow design, approval rules, and configured integrations.
